Chrono Trigger: Episode I July update

After a months-long hiatus, an update to my Chrono Trigger novel project is finally ready for the Compendium's review.  For those unfamiliar with the project, it is a very ambitious undertaking with four key goals:

#1. Reinvent the Chrono Trigger mythos for a new generation of fans while staying true to the core story and spirit of the original game.
#2. Establish what happened at the end of Chrono Cross and the ultimate legacy of Schala's actions.
#3. Incorporate certain characters and situations from selected fan projects into a unified vision.
#4. Establish a definitive beginning, middle, and end to the Chrono mythos encompassing four full-length novels.

The latest chapters of Episode I can be found here: http://www.chronocompendium.com/Forums/index.php/topic,9376.0.html

Play For Japan: The Album (featuring Mitsuda!)

Developer Grasshopper Manufacture has just facilitated the release of Play For Japan: The Album, a charity album featuring contributions from 18 great video game composers, including Akira "Silent Hill" Yamaoka, Nobuo "Final Fantasy" Uematsu, Koji "Super Mario Bros." Kondo, and of course, the one and only Yasunori Mitsuda, who contributes an arrangement of the track "Dimension Break" from Chrono Cross. It's available now on iTunes for $10, and 100% of proceeds will go to disaster relief for earthquake victims in Japan. It's great music for a great cause, so everyone out there is advised to buy, buy, buy, and tell all your friends to do the same!

Super Summer Dream Splash Italodisco Update!

Summer is in full effect! While news has been quiet on official fronts, we've got a lot of fan work and remixes to show for! Speaking of summer, it is officially time for you to begin a journey through ITALODISCO. If you are in search of the distilled, purest essence of the 1980s; if you long for the perfect music for driving into the night while wearing white towards a southern European coastal city where you'll lose yourself among the passion of really smooth dance music; if you desire the springtime of youth, this is your genre. Start with Vicente del Bosque's BelgioDisco Mixtape 3 and embark upon the seas of enchanted soundscapes and the greatest decade. Make it your obsession.

[DREAM SPLASH IV]  It's time to begin the fourth Dream Splash! If you've never heard of these before, it's a (in this case) 2-month long fan work focus on a certain topic in the Chrono series. This year's topic is Radical Dreamers; fan art/fiction/remixes are invited to cover Serge, Kid, and Magil's radical adventure in Viper Manor. Other adventures are welcome, too; I'll be seeing if I can throw together a quick gaiden fic! Head to this page to learn more and this forum to submit stuff! Let's see what we can cook up before the remix contest starting in September! Thanks to Licawolf for the awesome banners, as well as Kaiko/Boo the Gentleman Caller.  [CROSS ARRANGE]  Yasunori Mitsuda has announced that his next project will be the long-awaited Chrono Cross arrange here.

Licawolf also made this awesome Acacia Dragoons Emblem.  [2]  Next up is renowned modeler Straafe, who dropped back in to make a new Robo model! Check it out here!  [3]  Princess Schala Zeal's been working on modeling Zeal locations and objects for Second Life; check out the progress here!  [4]  Next up is CuyahogaRiver, with fresh Lynx and Kid! [ Kid looking over her shoulder - Kid Stars - Kid Sketch - Lynx (dark shading) - Lynx sketch 2 ]  [5]  As always, we've got cool art being featured at our other sources thread; check it out here!  [6]  Last but certainly not least is ChronoGears's awesome submission, Crono vs. Lavos - The Final Hour!  [FANFICTION]  This time, the only update is alfadorredux's Chrono Helix. Check it out here!

The Doors of Destiny (could not be broken)

Well everyone, it was a good effort - but we were rejected for our interview. The following is an email I received from Mr. Mitsuda's manager regarding our outreach efforts for a short interview:

French Chrono TV Special, Current Price of Radical Dreamers Cartridge

First up is the French Chrono TV special. Seru-Kun figured this one out. Have fun!

This shop in Japan (Mandarake) sells a Radical Dreamers Cartridge. The value is shown as about 700$.
Right beneath it you see a Dynami Tracer (which game engine is based on Chrono Trigger), which has a listed price of about 500$. (you can't see the whole price, but it must something around 44000 Yen)

I picked this photo from a facebook account and it was taken yesterday. Maybe someone is curious about info like this. ;)
